AllEarth Rail is chugging along to move Vermont forward

Rethinking how we get around is hard

Some can see the answers sooner than others

Is AllEarth Rail too early for the market?

More likely they’re right on time.

Already, young adults are ditching their cars and seeking “alternative” ways of getting around. I think the other opportunity, supporting mass transit, is solving the final mile issue. How to get people from the train station to their final destination. Electric bikes are taking hold and so is autonomous cars.

Rethinking how we pay for transportation is another thing.

We’re going to probably be looking at all the larger employers, including state government to say, ‘We want you to help subsidize,'” he says.

It seems clear that communities will also benefit, stimulating economic development around train stations.

AllEarth Rail plans to establish commuter service between St. Albans and Montpelier. It’s also looking at a route between Burlington and Middlebury.
