Leaders: Jared Duval, Exec. Director, Energy Action Network and The Rev. Joan Javier-Duval, Pastor, Unitarian Church of Montpelier
Jared Duval is Executive Director of the Energy Action Network and a member of the Vermont Climate Council. Before landing EAN, Jared served as Economic Development Director at the Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community Development where he was responsible for providing business support to working lands and green businesses. He helped guide millions of dollars of government investments in sustainable economic development. A ninth generation Vermonter, Jared grew up in the Upper Valley of Vermont.
The Rev. Joan Javier-Duval is Minister of the Unitarian Church of Montpelier where she has served since 2015. She also currently serves as Board President of Vermont Interfaith Action. Before responding to her call to ministry, Rev. Javier-Duval followed a call to public service as a community and political organizer and nonprofit leader organizing young voters, fighting for workers’ rights, and training progressive political leaders Washington, DC. She was born and raised in Chicago, IL, the daughter of immigrants from the Philippines. Joan, Jared, and their son live in Montpelier.
